The Sergio Pascolo's farm is a farm which raises hens for the production of eggs, exclusively under the method of the Organic farming.
The hens are raised on the ground, with free access to an open green meadow full of healing and medicinal herbs, where their instinct, will make them choose what they need, in that moment, for their wellness.
In the farm there are several zones for the feeding, and zones where the hens can lay eggs peacefully.
Right now we pick up from 6.000 to 7.000 eggs per day; we personally go to pick up the eggs in the nests, many times a day.
After the eggs have been picked up, they will be packed in the packing centre close to the farm, and, after this step, they will be ready to get quickly in the distribution centres.
All the cereals used for the feeding of the hens come from Organic farming.
For increase the quality of the eggshell, and for have a correct digestive functioning, we put some bowls of milled pebbles and oyster shells, which the hen choose.
Because of the freedom of choice that our hens enjoy, not only for the movements, but also in what they eat, we have several differences in the colour of the eggshells.
A difference can be found also in the colour of the yolk, which is conditioned by the quantity of the fresh grass that every single chicken choose to eat in our outdoor green meadow.
Antibiotics, vaccines, supplements or any food colouring are not given to the hens; eventual cures are done by using infuses of plants and herbs. We work a lot on prevention, we think that an animal correctly feeded, with organic products, free to move in adjusted places, rarely will get sick. The natural selection will do the rest.
We are a farm which because of a life's choice works only in the Organic, as a matter of fact we don't produce or even sell conventional eggs.
